UK import clearance is arranged as part of the confirmed service, using the importer's EORI where required. Safety and security declaration requirements depend on the route: direct imports into Great Britain use the UK Safety and Security (S&S GB) service for applicable entry summary declarations, while EU ICS2 applies where goods enter or transit the EU customs territory. Movements involving Northern Ireland, or transit through the EU, may follow different safety and security requirements — the exact filing responsibility depends on the route, carrier and shipment. UK duty and VAT are assessed on the goods, their value and the applicable trade terms at the time of import, and the applicable amounts are confirmed per shipment in your DDP quote.

China to UK DDP shipping moves your goods door-to-door with one fixed price: freight, UK import clearance, duty and VAT as confirmed, and final delivery. Air takes about 5–9 days and sea about 28–38 days. Availability depends on the cargo, value and your EORI details, and is confirmed per shipment before booking.
XCJD arranges China to UK freight with DDP door-to-door delivery as standard. Tell us the cargo details and we compare air, sea and express options within 24 hours.
| Included in a confirmed UK DDP quote | Not included / confirmed separately | | --- | --- | | Freight from the supplier to the UK address | Duties and taxes if the shipment is arranged as DAP instead of DDP | | UK import clearance arranged as part of the confirmed service | Storage, detention or demurrage caused by missing or late buyer data | | Duty and VAT as confirmed for the specific goods and value | Unplanned inspection, re-labelling or disposal costs | | Final delivery to the UK address | Cargo categories we confirm case by case before quoting |
Under DAP, the buyer is the importer of record and settles UK duty and VAT directly. We quote DDP where it is available for the cargo and route, and we say so when it is not.
Freight is billed on the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight. For air freight the volumetric divisor is typically 6,000 (length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000, assessed per piece); for LCL sea freight the billable unit is cubic metres, and a minimum charge per shipment applies. The quote states which basis was used, so the total is verifiable line by line.
Batteries and power banks, dangerous goods, branded goods, liquids, powders, cosmetics, and oversized or heavy machinery require a pre-check of the product and its documents (for example UN38.3 test summaries or safety data sheets) before we confirm whether the shipment can be arranged. Cargo we cannot legally or safely handle is declined rather than accepted and corrected later.
Send the product name and HS category, carton count, total weight and dimensions, quantity, cargo value, supplier city, UK destination postcode, and whether the goods contain batteries or are otherwise sensitive. We reply with a fixed quote within 24 hours, usually much faster on business days.

No. Under DDP the seller pays UK duty and VAT and delivers to the final address; under DAP the buyer is the importer of record and settles duty and VAT. We quote DDP as standard and will say clearly if a shipment can only be arranged as DAP.
